Tom Gimbel founded LaSalle Network, a Chicago based staffing and recruiting firm, in 1998 when he was just 26 years old. The firm has expanded ever since; now with over 150 employees, and ranking on INC.’s 5000 list 10 years in a row.

Susan Adams, a Forbes staff writer, interviewed him for her article, “Tough Lessons In Firing: Why It Took A Staffing Entrepreneur Eight Years To Let A Poor Performer Go.” Tom explained that when he started LaSalle he worked hard to establish the culture he wanted first. If his employees enjoyed work and didn’t, “treat it as a means to an end,” it would result in business wins. With his employees buying into the concept, his company has flourished.

Tom also spoke about his struggles to let employees go, but at the end of the day it is what is best for the company. If an employee brings in revenue for the company, but is not the right cultural fit, they still bring down the company.

It’s important to find the right balance of cultural fit and business goals for your company. SINGLEForm eliminates worry and streamlines work flow so your employees can focus on being their best selves.
